Terms of Service

Last updated: June 16, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website marshalservice.com and your communications with Paul A. Cappiali, Jr., a Connecticut State Marshal (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By using this website or contacting us, you agree to these Terms.

Nature of our services

A Connecticut State Marshal is an independent public officer authorized under Connecticut law to serve civil process and execute the orders of the court. We act as a neutral officer. This website is provided for general information only; it is not legal advice, and using it or contacting us does not create an attorney–client relationship. For legal questions, please consult an attorney or the clerk of the court.

Fees

Fees for service of process and related marshal services are fixed by Connecticut statute (CGS § 52-261) and are the same regardless of who pays. Out-of-pocket costs (such as recording fees, certified mail, and agency fees) are billed at cost. An estimate is available on request.

Text messaging

If you opt in to text messaging by texting (203) 242-2440 or providing your mobile number, you agree to receive conversational text messages relating to your matter. Message frequency may vary, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance. See our Privacy Policy for how messaging information is handled.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information about the documents to be served and the party to be served, and for ensuring you have the legal right to request the service. We rely on the information and instructions you provide.

Intellectual property

The content, design, and badge insignia on this website are used to identify this office and may not be copied or used without permission.

Disclaimers

This website is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that service can be completed in every case; service depends on factors outside our control, including the accuracy of the information provided and the availability of the party to be served. A Connecticut State Marshal may not charge a service fee when service is not made (CGS § 6-38d).

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of the use of this website is limited to the amount of the fees paid for the service at issue. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted to this page, with an updated “Last updated” date.
